Connect Claude or ChatGPT to BookBidder
Last checked October 2026
Ask your AI assistant about your Amazon Ads and book profits, in plain English. Once connected, Claude or ChatGPT can read your BookBidder account and answer questions like "Which of my books lose money on ads?" using your real numbers.
BookBidder connects through an MCP server (Model Context Protocol), the standard way AI assistants connect to apps, at https://mcp.bookbidder.ai.
What you need
- A BookBidder account on a paid plan or an active free trial
- Your Amazon Ads account connected to BookBidder
- Claude (any plan; free plans can add one custom connector) or a ChatGPT plan that supports custom MCP servers
Connect Claude
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector.
- Paste this URL:
https://mcp.bookbidder.ai - Leave the default options selected and click Add.
- Sign in with your BookBidder email and password, then click Connect.
- Click Allow access.
Start a new chat and make sure BookBidder is turned on in the chat's connector menu. Then ask a question.
Connect ChatGPT
ChatGPT connections work on ChatGPT on the web, not the mobile app.
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins.
- Click the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
- Paste this URL:
https://mcp.bookbidder.ai - Choose OAuth if asked how to sign in.
- Sign in with your BookBidder email and password, then click Connect.
- Click Allow access.
In a new chat, turn on BookBidder from the tools menu, then ask a question. If you don't see the option to add a custom MCP server, your ChatGPT plan may not support it yet.
Questions to try
- "Audit my Amazon Ads account"
- "Which of my books lose money on ads?"
- "Which keywords spend without selling?"
- "What did BookBidder change this week and why?"
- "Write me a weekly ads report"
You can also ask about a specific campaign, what Smart Advisor recommends, or how this month compares to last month.
What your assistant can and can't do
Your assistant can read your campaign performance, book royalties and profit, wasted spend, Smart Advisor recommendations, and BookBidder's activity log.
The connection is read-only. Your assistant cannot change bids, budgets, keywords, or campaigns. To act on a recommendation, open BookBidder.
Every answer is based on your most recently synced data. Amazon reports ad data with a delay of about a day, so today's numbers may not appear yet.
About the permissions screen
When you connect, you'll see a screen asking for "ongoing access to your account." This keeps your assistant connected so you don't have to sign in every time you start a chat. You can disconnect at any time.
Your data and privacy
When you ask your assistant a question, BookBidder sends the relevant data from your account to that assistant so it can answer. From there, your AI provider's terms apply.
Before connecting, we recommend checking your AI provider's model-training settings. In ChatGPT, this is the Improve the model for everyone setting under Data controls. In Claude, check your privacy settings.
BookBidder never uses your Amazon advertising data to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Disconnect
- Claude: Settings, then Connectors. Find BookBidder and remove or disconnect it.
- ChatGPT: Plugins or Settings, then Apps. Find BookBidder and disconnect it.
Disconnecting stops all further access immediately.
Troubleshooting
"I can't sign in" or "access denied." Make sure you're using your BookBidder login, and that your subscription or trial is active.
My assistant isn't using BookBidder. Make sure BookBidder is turned on for that chat, then try asking directly, like "Use BookBidder to audit my ads."
The numbers look out of date. Your assistant shows when your data was last synced. Amazon reports with a delay, so the most recent day may be missing.
